People started noticing DYING PASSION after releasing their first demo called "No Time" in January 1999. Demo was sent out to all kinds of magazines and most reactions were positive. They took part in some musical competitions. Their music participating in various compilations.
2000 "Secretly"
DYING PASSION signed their first record deal on their album Secretly with two indie labels Metal Breath Production & Epidemie Records. CD was released in May 2000. They presented a new instrument - the violin, which with combination of flute gave their music nearly mediaeval and slight folk atmosphere. In the summer of 2000, the band could be seen on many rock and metal festivals in The Czech Republic. At the end of 2000 new bassist Standa "Vjacki" Pavlík joined the band. The most notable concert was support of The Gathering on their If_Then_Else tour in Prague in 2001.
2002 "Voyage"
Finding their own voice and exploring musical boundaries in a number of genres moves their music more to progressive rock. In March 2002 they start to record their second album "Voyage" at Hacienda studio (cz). It was arranged with the great help of Milos "Dodo" Dolezal. The album fits in the gothic metal genre, but there are also ambient, blues, trip rock elements, with use of a wide palette of contributing instruments, including flute, piano, violin, and cello, which do a great job of complementing the heavy, vibrant guitars. "Voyage" was released on Metal Breath in May 2002. Dying Passion received good reviews and highly positive fans reaction. Japanese version of Voyage was also released on Black Wind Records (RIP) in April 2003.
In summer 2003 flutist left the band, they're playing huge number of gigs in the clubs and festivals. Video was shot for song "Hot Breath of Night".
At the end of 2003 came the fresh blood in young talented keyboardist nicknamed Aladar.
2004 "Sweet Disillusions"
At this year big events happened, mainly in their private lives. Vocalist Zuzana and guitarist Standa gave the birth of their first child Eliska. Ahead of this in April 2003 the group was in the studio again. Their 3rd album called "Sweet Disillusions" was recorded in "SOPA" studio in Lipov (CZ) with a great assistance of Standa Valasek. The members wanted to try out new ideas and apparently made this album more varied and experimental, leaves behind most of the "gothicL and much of the "metal" and instead offers something much harder to get a descriptive lock on. Album is filled with diverse, intense and emotional rock songs, displaying striking new textures through bold arrangements and the addition of a untypical range of different wind-instruments as trumpet, clarinet and sax; give sound little bit of jazz, cabaret, blues, and other music. Video was shot for the opening track "Song Of Liberty".
CD Sweet Disillusions was released in October 2005 on Metal Breath. A limited edition of 300 copies in digipack package released concurrently on Epidemie Records. In October 2004 DYING PASSION set out on tour with Dusk (Pakistan), Dark Gamballe and Bethrayer; in April 2005 supported ANATHEMA in Prague.
